The most contested Scripture in today’s hostile world is Genesis 1-3. In them we have a poetic rendering of God’s creation of all things ex-nihilo (out of nothing). As science has claimed to “explain” the origins of the universe (without God) Christiansare needing to be able to understand and defend these passages.
But Christians find themselves increasingly confused over these passages. For example, is the earth old or young? Did God create the universe and earth in six literal days? What did God create during those seven days? What about evolution? Is there any evidence that God exists? What is the best evidence to win someone to Christ? If God is good what about human suffering? By the end of this class you will be able to answer these questions and answer, “…everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have” (1 Peter 3:15).
Don’t just know what you believe but why. We will be seeking answers from today’s top minds in science & philosophy. Adult Sunday School at 11:15 in fellowship hall.
